The Union Ministry of Home Affairs (UMHA) has issued a letter to all states, urging them to enhance security for National Investigation Agency (NIA) officials facing threats from terrorist groups and Naxals, reports NEWS 18 on October 5. The communication revealed that the Popular Front of India (PFI), in collaboration with Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), is seeking information about NIA officers and other Indian intelligence units. Additionally, there is a direct threat from Al-Badr to target NIA officials in Jammu and Kashmir (J&K).
