A woman identified as Shakunti Devi, a resident of Latehar District of Jharkhand, was killed after an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) laid by Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) cadres exploded when she was collecting Mahua (Madhuca longifolia) flowers in the Bulbul Forest area under Pesharar Police Station limits in Lohardaga District on April 23, reports The Print. “During the ‘Operation Double Bull’, the IEDs which were planted by the Maoists in the forest had been destroyed by the police. It seems some IEDs are still there. Police are investigating the matter,” Jharkhand Police spokesperson Amol V Homkar said.
