URF stated that any film-related activities would now be ‘taxed’. Film Forum, an apex body of 14 guilds, said it would not be able to pay the sum demanded and urged the outfit to withdraw its demand. A Film activist stated that URF was demanding INR 400000 to INR 500000 which was beyond their capacity to pay. He also added that “Right now they are threatening to shut down all film theatres and cancel all shooting schedules, failing which they have threatened to hurl bombs.”
