In another incident, a former PWG cadre belonging to Andhra Pradesh, who was critically injured at Colombo airport on April 11, after an abortive take off of a Sri Lankan Airlines flight, died on April 15. It was reported that the son of a State Inspector- General of Police in-charge of Rayalaseema region was travelling with the former Naxalite and the police had sent him for training in aerial warfare. However, a press statement released in Hyderabad on April 16 on behalf of the police chief of Andhra Pradesh said, "There was no truth in the allegation that the son of the Inspector- General of Police was (with the deceased) or that he had any business dealings with him. There is also no truth that the police have sent him for training in aerial warfare.'' The statement said the police, in any manner except overseeing their rehabilitation, was not using surrendered Naxalites.

The Nepal government is reported to have made an official request to the Union government to help in curbing the current extremist violence in their country by checking the extremists' activities on Indian soil.
