According to media sources of September 27, the joint special combing operation lunched by police and para-military forces––Bangladesh Rifles (BDR)––against the proscribed left-wing extremist Purba Banglar Communist Party (PBCP) some 10 days ago seems to have failed. Reports added the security forces (SFs) are yet to arrest a single hardcore extremist or a high-ranking party leader. However, despite the SFs being on a high alert, PBCP extremists have managed to dodge the law enforcing agencies, reports further added. To recollect, police and BDR had initiated a joint operation 10 days ago in Bagmara, Atrai, Raninagar, Singra, Naldanga and Sirajganj areas in greater Rajshahi district to arrest PBCP extremists.
