An all-party meeting called to discuss clearing Communist Party of Nepal-Unified Marxist-Leninist (CPN-UML)’s obstruction in Parliament and moving forward the United States grant project Millennium Challenge Compact (MCC) was concluded on December 19, reports Khabar Hub. According to Government Spokesperson Minister of Communication and Information Technology Gyanendra Bahadur Karki, political parties urged the CPN-UML to come to dialogue and end the obstruction at people-elected Parliament. “The all-party meeting concluded that the voice of the people was being suppressed due to the UML’s obstruction in the parliament. The role of the opposition is important to keep parliamentary democracy alive, but that does not mean not allowing the parliament to function,” Minister Karki said. Political parties also expressed their views on MCC and agreed to reach a conclusion following further discussion on the agenda.
