Saeed Ahmed Baloch, a local leader of the Balochistan National Party-Mengal (BNP-M), was gunned down by unidentified assailants in the Qambrani Road area of Quetta, the provincial capital of Balochistan, reports Dawn. Saeed was the younger brother of BNP-M’s central labour secretary Musa Baloch. Saeed was passing through the Qambrani area when armed assailants opened fire on him. Saeed received multiple bullet injuries and died on the spot.
Separately, one Army personnel was killed and several other personnel were injured in an attack on their camp at Talang Han Solani in Gwarkop area of Kech District at 7 pm on May 9, reports Radio Zrumbesh. Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) ‘spokesman’ Major Gwahram Baloch said in a statement to the media that their cadres attacked the Talang Han Solani camp with rockets and sophisticated weapons.
Meanwhile, Army check post was targeted by Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) cadres with grenade launchers in Naseerabad area of Turbat District on May 9, reports Radio Zrumbesh. BLA ‘spokesman’ Jeehand Baloch claimed the responsibility for the attack and said in a press release issued to the media that Army personnel suffered casualties as a result of the attack without giving the number.
Further, Baloch Republican Guard (BRG) cadres blow up transmission towers at Mir Hassan area of Dera Murad Jamali in Nasirabad District in the night of May 8, reports Radio Zrumbesh. BRG ‘spokesman’ Dostin Baloch claim the responsibility for the attack, said in a statement to the media that their cadres blew up the electricity poles going to Punjab from the Ochh Power Plant of Dera Murad Jamali. He said that after the blast, one tower collapsed while another tower was severely affected after which power from the Ochh power plant to Punjab was suspended.
