On May 7, two militants of Zeliangrong United Front-Jenchui (ZUF-J) were arrested from National Highway – 37 towards Awangkhul at Noney District of Manipur, tweets Assam Rifles.
Meanwhile, the National Revolutionary Front Manipur (NRFM) has claimed responsibility of the two blasts at Nagamapal and Khurai in Imphal on May 5 and 6 respectively, reports East Mojo on May 9. NRFM stated that RK Birendra, an executive engineer of agriculture department, on whose residence one of blast took place, had made boastful remark and conducted activities that portrayed the militant outfit in poor light and demeaned the cause of the outfit. The militant outfit also maintained that they take utmost precaution to avoid any collateral damage while carrying out their action and abstain from violence. The NRFM has appealed to owners of properties damaged in the blasts to pardon them. Earlier, South Asia Terrorism Portal (SATP) has reported the two incidents on May 7.
