The troopers of the 136 Battalion of Border Security Force (BSF) recovered three packets of heroin weighing 3.26 kilograms, worth INR 150 million, along with a China-made pistol (.30 bore) and a magazine near the International Border (IB)outpost Shameke in Ferozepur District of Punjab on August 16, reports The Tribune. As per the report, cross-border drug operatives pushed the consignment through the river channel with the help of plastic bottles tied to water hyacinth, but was thwarted by the BSF troops.
