The Haryana Police filed the second FIR against Gurpatwant Singh Pannu, the US-based legal adviser of the banned pro-Khalistan organisation, Sikhs For Justice (SFJ) on charges of sedition and secessionism in Kurukshetra District of the State on July 12, reports The Times of India. Earlier on July 3, the Haryana Police registered an FIR against Pannu on charges of sedition and secessionism at Bhondsi Police Station in Gurugram District. The Superintendent of Police (SP) of Kurukshetra District, Astha Modi said, “recently, automated phone calls and audio messages against India came to our notice here. Those were in the voice of Pannu and he claimed to have initiated a voter registration process for his secessionist movement from Gurdwara Patshahi Chhevin, Kurukshetra from July 11 onwards. We called up the gurdwara management, which refuted his claim and released a video message for the people clarifying its position.” The SP also said that accused Pannu is indulging in unlawful activities aimed at threatening the sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity of India by trying to incite the public and spread hatred among the communities.
