In a multilingual statement issued on February 29, Islamic State (IS) took responsibility of the bomb explosion inside a traffic Police box in Chittagong city of Chittagong Districtin Chittagong Division on February 28, reports New Age. They were ‘mujahideens’ of Dawlatul Islam Khilafah and used improvised explosive devices that injured two Policemen, according to the IS claim quoted by SITE Intelligence Group.
However, Deputy Commissioner of Counter Terrorism (CT) unit of Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) Hasan Mohamad Showkat Ali on March 1 ruled out the claim of Islamic State (IS) over the attack, reports The Daily Star.
