A cadre of the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) identified as Mahendra Veladi (32), a resident of Cherpalli in neighbouring Chhattisgarh who had a reward of INR 200,000 announced by the Maharashtra government, was arrested by the Police along the Indravati River in Gadchiroli District on December 6, reports The Times of India. The police claimed that he was in the area with the intention of providing information about the movement of special forces to the Aheri Local Organising Squad (LOS) and Sandra LOS.
