The National Investigating Agency (NIA) on March 2 took over investigations in the case pertaining to arrest of Hedayatullah Malik, chief of Lashkar-e-Mustafa (LeM) outfit, who was arrested by Police and Special Operations Group (SOG) from Digiana locality in Jammu District last month, reports Daily Excelsior. Earlier, SATP had reported that in a joint operation by Jammu and Anantnag Police, Hedayatullah Malik has been arrested from Jammu District of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) on February 6. LeM is an offshoot of Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) in J&K. Subsequently, his wife, was also arrested from the City. The NIA took over investigations in the case from Gangyal Police Station where the case had been registered initially in the arrest of Hedayatullah Malik. At the time of arrest, Police had recovered arms, ammunition and explosives from the possession of Malik, who had reached Jammu to revive militant activities. He had also conducted recce of some sensitive installations in New Delhi.
