Seven people including a chairman of a Union Council (UC) were killed in a roadside explosion near Chakar Bazaar in the Balagatar area of Kech District in Balochistan on The Balochistan Post. According to Police, a remote-controlled landmine targeted a vehicle carrying Balgatar’s UC Chairman Ishtiaq Yaqoob and six others. All seven occupants of the vehicle died on the spot and the vehicle was completely damaged. The deceased were identified as Ishaq s/o Yaqoob, Ibrahim s/o Badil, Nizam Deedar s/o Wajid, Fida Hussain s/o Momin, Sarfaraz s/o Bandu, Safar Khan s/o Haider and Qasim. The victims were returning from a wedding ceremony in a nearby village when they were targeted.

The Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) in a media statement claimed responsibility for targeting Security Forces (SFs) outposts in two separate attacks in the Awaran and Panjgur Districts of Balochistan on August 7, reports The Balochistan Post. Without mentioning the number of causalities, the BLF ‘spokesperson’ Major Gwahram Baloch said in the statement that BLF cadres have inflicted heavy losses of life and property upon the Pakistan army in these attacks.
