A self-styled divisional ‘commander’ of Hizb-ul-Mujahideen (HM) outfit, identified as Muneser Hussain, was killed along with his bodyguard on August 7, as Security Forces (SFs) thwarted an infiltration attempt and a conspiracy by the outfit to revive its activities in Poonch District of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), officials said, reports PTI. “Hussain went to Pakistan for arms training in 1993 and came back three years later. He has masterminded a number of attacks on SFs before returning to Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK) in 1998,” officials added.The body of Hussain was recovered along with one AK 56 rifle, one 9 mm pistol with a silencer, two hand grenades, eatables and medicines. SATP has earlier reported the killing of one of the two militants in this operation on August 7.
