People from different walks of life join a demonstration in front of the National Museum at Shahbagh in Dhaka city on October 19 denouncing vandalism of and attacks on Hindu temples, houses and property across the country, reports New Age. Different political parties, including the ruling Awami League, and socio-cultural organisations held street protests, demanding a proper investigation into the recent attacks on puja mandaps and Hindus in over a dozen districts and seeking communal harmony in the country.Participants of protest programmes across the country also blamed the ‘inaction and negligence’ of the Police for the repeated attacks on the Hindu minority community in the districts in the past few days.They demanded judicial and impartial probes into the incidents and punishment of the perpetrators.
