Three Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) sympathisers identified as Shamshuddin and Sodi Raju from Abicherla village in Koonavaram Mandal(administrative sub-division) and Madhu Raj from Etapaka Mandalin East Godavari District were arrested by Police at Gorlagudem in Chintoor Mandalof East Godavari District in Andhra Pradesh on June 14, reports ANI. They were trying to escape during a vehicle check at Gorlagudem junction and were arrested with a cash of INR 9, 93,000. Police also recovered two bikes and three mobile phones. They were trying to take that money to CPI-Maoist leaders of Kumta Area Committee and Kishtaram Area Committee.CPI-Maoist had planned the extortion from Beedi contractors as this is the season for growing those plants, said Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Kadar Basha.
