Police arrested Prasant Majhi, a high-ranking cadre of the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist), with a reward of INR 1 million on his head, along with his five associates in hilly terrain of Parasnath under Khukhra Police Station in Giridih District of Jharkhand on December 25, reports Hindustan Times. Giridih Superintendent of Police (SP), Amit Renu, the special squad also seized AK-47 rifle from Prasant Majhi. Among the arrested Maoists activists, two are women and three men. The identities of the five cadres are yet to be established.
