The Minister of Justice, Prisons Affairs and Constitutional Reforms Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe is scheduled to present the 22nd Amendment to the Constitution bill to the Parliament on August 10 (today), reports Colombo Page. The Parliament Communications Department said it was decided to submit the bill to the Parliament at the party leaders’ meeting held recently. The 22nd Amendment to the Constitution Draft bill was approved by the Cabinet at the Cabinet meeting held on August 1. According to Minister Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe, the 22nd Amendment includes some new amendments as well as the positive clauses of the 19th Amendment, which were repealed by the 20th Amendment.
