A Hefaza- e-Islam (HeI) leader in Narayanganj District, arrested in April in cases of violence, died in jail custody in Dhaka city on May 20, reports New Age. The Narayanganj’s Sonargaon upazila unit vice president and Khelafat Majlish upazila unit president Iqbal Hossain (55), died at the Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital. Iqbal was arrested on April 11 by a team of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) at Jurain in Dhaka and was implicated in six cases lodged with Sonargaon Police Station. Jailor Shah Rafiqul Islam of Narayanganj District jail said that Iqbal was taken to the hospital on May 11 after he fell sick in the jail.
