Terrorists belonging to the United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) and Bodo Security Force (BSF) kill eight police personnel and injure four others in an ambush at Kakilabari in the Barpeta district.

January 12

Suspected Bodo terrorists kill eight non-Bodo labourers at Rumikhata in the Kokrajhar district.

February 17

ULFA terrorists kill two civilians and injure two others at Dilibari village under Tingkhong police station limits in the Dibrugarh district.

February 23

Security forces kill five unidentified terrorists during an encounter inside the Dibru-Saikhawa reserve forest area of Dibrugarh district.

March 28

Assam Police personnel kill Pabitra Zamindar, ‘chairman’ of the Nagaon district unit of ULFA, during an encounter at Mohmari in the Nagaon district and also arrest four cadres.

April 2

Unidentified terrorists kill two security force personnel in an ambush at Haijan under Digboi police station limits in Tinsukia district and loot two rifles.

April 13

Four ULFA terrorists and one Border Security Force personnel are killed during an encounter at Rangajan Chapari in the Sonitpur district.

Suspected surrendered ULFA (SULFA) cadres kill three civilians at Dhopatari under Kamalpur police station jurisdiction.

15 ULFA terrorists surrender before the district authorities at Golaghat.

May 9

Bodo terrorists kill four police personnel and injure four others as they blow up a police vehicle at Angragaon in the Darrang district.

Three ULFA terrorists are killed during an encounter with the security forces at Panichokua in Nagaon district.

Suspected National Socialist Council of Nagaland-Isak-Muivah (NSCN-IM) cadres kill six Kuki tribals during an attack at Mulkhang village in the North Cachar Hills district.

May 27

25 non-Bodos, including three women and five children, across 10 villages are killed by unidentified Bodo terrorists around Kokrajhar town. 250 houses are also set ablaze by the terrorists.

June 24

Three ULFA terrorists are killed in an encounter with the Assam Police at Rajagaon under Kochua police station limits in Nagaon district.

Two ULFA terrorists are killed during an encounter with the Assam Police at Dolimari in Nagaon district.

July 13

Seven police personnel, including an Additional Superintendent of Police, are killed as unidentified Bodo terrorists blow up their vehicle at Chouraguri in the Barpeta district.

July 23

Bodo terrorists kill at least 100 non-Bodos and injure several others in an attack on a relief camp that sheltered non-Bodos at Babhari in the Kokrajhar district.

October 6

Two civilians are killed and seven others sustain injuries in a powerful bomb blast at the main market of Diphu town in Karbi Anglong district.

31 ULFA terrorists surrender before Chief Minister Hiteswar Saikia in Tezpur.

November 5

ULFA terrorists kill two SULFA cadres at Japarkhuchi in the outskirt of Nalbari town.

November 10

17 ULFA terrorists surrender in the presence of the Chief Minister Hiteswar Saikia in Guwahati.

November 20
