The Special Operations Team (SOT) of Rachakonda Police along with the Yadagirigutta Police foiled the plan of four persons, allegedly former cadres of the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) party and Communist Party of India-Marxist Leninist-Janashakti (CPI-ML-Janashakti) group, to extort realtors and arrested them in Yadadri Bhongir District of Telangana on November 6, reports Telangana Today. The four persons, who were arrested on November 6, had allegedly planned extortions and robberies in Hyderabad and Yadadri Bhongir, Police said, adding that three country-made firearms along with live rounds, detonators, gas cylinders, drilling machines, letterheads of the Maoist party, mobile phones and other material were seized from them. The arrested persons were identified as P. Srinivas alias Srinanna (45) from Jangaon, V. Naga Mallaiah alias Mallesh (58) from Yadadri Bhongir, E. Srinivas Reddy alias Chandranna (49) from Chikkadpally and G. Swamy alias Mallesh (55) from Nalgonda. One suspect, Ashok, was absconding. According to the Police, the four suspects earlier worked in different extremist outfits including CPI-Maoist and CPI-ML-Janashakti groups. Srinanna along with his wife Pushpa had worked with the CPI-ML-Janashakti group between 1994 to 1996, while Mallesh had worked with the CPI-Maoist and also assisted the Alair Guerrilla Squad for one year.
Meanwhile, Four jan militia (people’s army) members, including two women, of the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist), surrendered before the Police in Bhadradri Kothagudem District of Telangana on November 6, reports devdiscourse.com. The four belonging to Cherla Mandal (administrative sub-division), who was working as jan militiamembers for the CPI-Maoist Party for over one year, surrendered before Police on Saturday (November 6), an official release said. According to Police, they were supplying essential commodities from the villagers and informing Police movements to the Maoists party, and now surrendered to live peacefully.
