Suspected militants on November 7 shot dead a Policeman in Batamaloo area of Srinagar, the capital of Jammu and Kashmir, reports Kashmir Observer. 29-year-old Tawseef Ahmad was shot at and injured by suspected militants from close range outside his home in SD Colony of Batamaloo. Ahmad, who sustained serious injuries in the attack succumbed to his injuries on his way to hospital.
Meanwhile, one The Resistance Force (TRF) militant was arrested by Security Forces (SFs) in Wahadan area of Anantnag District on November 8 (today), reports Greater Kashmir. A senior police officer said that Hafiz Abdulla Malik resident of Ganjipora was arrested during a search operation by joint forces of Police and Army's 3rd Rashtriya Rifles during wee hours this morning. One pistol and seven rounds were also recovered from his possession. During further questioning, the militant led search parties to Katsu Forest where SFs recovered an AK-47, 02 magazine along with 40 rounds from the spot.
Separately, Police on November 6 arrested four extortionists in Budgam District and recovered a dummy weapon and cash PKR 33,300 extortion money from their possession, reports Greater Kashmir. A Police handout identified the accused as Feroz Ahmad Wani son of Abdul Ahad Wani, Bilal Ahmad Malik son of Ali Muhammad Malik and Abdul Momin Shah Son of Abdul Rashid Shah -all three residents of Pethzanigam and Asif Ahmad Ahanger son of Abdul Gani Ahanger of Bonzanigam.
