A Sub-Inspector of Police was killed in a bomb blast in Jevani tehsil (revenue unit) of Gwadar District of Balochistan on November 3, reports The Balochistan Post. The explosion occurred when a bomb fitted into a motorcycle went off near the sub-inspector’s house. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack so far.
Separately, Security Forces (SFs) on November 1 ‘forcibly disappeared’ two students from University of Balochistan (UoB) in Quetta, the provincial capital of Balochistan, reports The Balochistan Post. The abductees identified as, Sohail Ahmed son of Lal Muhammad and Fasih Baloch. Both are said to be the residents of Nushki District.
Meanwhile, protests were carried out in Quetta and the federal capital Islamabad on November 5 against “enforced disappearances” and raids on academic institutions in Balochistan, reports The Balochistan Post. Student leaders, activists and the general public participated in the protest, arguing that the Government is cracking down on student politics and demanding that such practices must be stopped.
