The Chairman of Free Madhes Alliance, CK Raut, who has courted controversy for his secessionist remarks, has been arrested from Gaur of Rautahat District in Province No. 2 on October 7, reports Republica. Raut was arrested by the Police after he appeared at the District court on a general date. A Police team led by DSP Mahendra Prasad Marasini took Raut under control after he was returning from the court. Police are interrogating Raut following the detention.
Meanwhile, Co-chairs of Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Pushpa Kamal Dahal and KP Sharma Oli on October 5 discussed formation of party’s lower committees, reports The Himalayan Times. This is the first meeting between the two leaders after they returned from their foreign visits. The two leaders discussed lower committee’s formation and decided to further discuss the issues in the party’s secretariat meeting.
