Reports indicated that ULFA might have procured rockets from the Taliban militia in Afghanistan. A senior police official, on April 11, reportedly said, "We are sure that the arms and ammunition recovered from Rongdupara under Phulbari police station yesterday belong to ULFA militants, who actually got them from the Taliban. It establishes the link between the ULFA and the Afghan militia." No arrest could be made as the terrorists escaped following a brief clash with police.
