However, the total numbers of casualties is yet to be officially confirmed. It should be noted that the Takarjala, Golaghati, Charilam and Bisramganj areas are strongholds of the NLFT, till the split in February 2001. Currently, the Nayanbasi faction dominates Golaghati, Charilam and Bagma areas. Reports said suspected left-wing extremists—Naxalites––of the Communist Party of United States of India, CPUSI (Dalit Bahujan Sramika Vimukthi) killed two of their leaders—‘squad commander’ and ‘legal squad leader’—in the dense forests near Rangapur village, Warangal district, on December 11, accusing them of masterminding a covert operation. Reports added that a group of Naxals of Eturunagaram Agency Area Committee went to Rangapur village and whisked away Allauddin and Ravinder to the nearby forests. They were reportedly killed after being ‘interrogated’ for about three hours on their alleged role in the November 11-Lenkalagadda encounter in which seven CPUSI Naxalites, including the Warangal district secretary, were killed. Later, the Naxalites reportedly stopped a Road Transport Corporation (RTC) bus and sent the bodies in. The Naxalites also gave a letter to the bus conductor on the incident. The letter held the two slain Naxalites responsible for the Lenkalagadda encounter. The CPUSI State Committee had demanded a judicial inquiry by a sitting High Court Judge into the incident.
