Sheikh was the taluka naib nazim (District Deputy officer) in Tando Adam town of Sanghar District. Tando Adam Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Ayoub Brohi said that Sheikh lived in Karachi for several years and had recently returned to his native town Tando Adam.

A College Professor and a Shia religious leader, identified as Nazir Hussain Imrani, was shot at and critically injured by unidentified assailants in a targeted sectarian attack in Dhoke Kashmirian area of Rawalpindi District on January 8, reports The Express Tribune. Imrani was an imam of Qasr-e-Sajjad Imambargah in Iqbal Town and a Professor at Government Hashmat Ali College. Police said that Imrani was returning home on after dropping his daughter at school. When he reached Dhoke Kashmirian, two unidentified assailants riding a motorbike fired a volley of bullets at him and fled from the scene.

Two Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz (JSQM) leaders, identified as spokesperson Maqsood Qureshi and Salman Wadho, were killed in a targeted attack near Bhiria city in Naushehro Feroze District on March 21, reports The Express Tribune. Wadho was the Secretary General of Latif Sangat - the literary wing of JSQM. After the attack, the assailants set the vehicle on fire and escaped from the scene. The killing has triggered widespread unrest in many towns and cities of Sindh, with business activity coming to a halt.

The men were gunned down by unidentified militants as they were about to leave the area’s vegetable market. “The five masked men boarded the bus in which the victims were seated, forced the driver off, and shot them,” Sariab Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Imran Qureshi said. “They killed one man outside the bus and the others inside it before fleeing on their motorcycles,” he said. “Eight men were killed and another one was wounded in the sectarian attack,” confirmed Quetta Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Abdul Razzaq Cheema. “All of them had come from Hazara Town to buy vegetables for their shops,” he said. Security Forces (SFs) reached the area swiftly and shot dead a suspected militant and arrested five of his accomplices. “One suspected militant, Saddam Jan, was killed and five more attackers, one of them with bullet wounds, were apprehended during the shootout,” the security sources said.
