On April 16, RAB personnel arrested Abdul Majid, a Jamaat-e-Islami leader, at Dinajpur Railway Station market for his alleged links with the JMB. Dinajpur Jamaat-e-Islami unit chief, Aftab Uddin Mollah, said that Majid is a Rokon (senior member) of Jamaat and is also the president of the editors' panel of weekly Ajker Dinajpur. Khandakar had reportedly been trained in Afghanistan. According to Daily Star, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) personnel on April 25 arrested two militants of the Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB), Mohammad Wasim and Ali Hossain, from Rupganj in the Narayanganj district and recovered a huge cache of explosives and bomb-making materials from them. The seizure included one kilogram each of nitrogen benzene and potassium chlorate, 100 grams of lead azide, 500 grams each of sodium nitrate and sodium azide, 45 detonators, 11 integrated circuits, 24 electric connectors and an explosive measuring scale, said a RAB press release.

On April 25 and 26, during separate pre-dawn raids, members of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), arrested two Majlish-e-Shura (highest policy-making body) members of the Jama’atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB), Khaled Saifullah and Salahuddin, from Konapara in the capital Dhaka and Halisahar in Chittagong respectively, according to Independent. With the arrest of these two, all seven Majlish-e-Shura members of the outfit have been arrested. On April 26, Saifullah was arrested along with his wife, three children and brother from a rented house at 8, Ideal Road, Paradagair under Demra police station in Dhaka city. RAB personnel also arrested the house owner, Hafez Mohammad Ullah, for his suspected linkages with the JMB. Salahuddin was arrested a day earlier along with six of his associates from Chittagong.

According to Independent, the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) personnel arrested an ehsar (full-time cadre) of the Jama’atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB), Mohammad Abdul Motaleb alias Masud, from the Shibganj police station area of Chapainawabganj district on April 8. Masud reportedly admitted that he joined the JMB in 2001 and was trained as a bomb maker. Police sources identified the militants as Abdul Hamid Mian of Tangail, Humayun Kabir of Munshiganj, Munir Khan and Mohammad Akkas of Barisal, Nurul Islam Khokon of Khulna, Jamal Uddin of Laxmipur, and Mohammad Raju of Satkhira. Police also seized around 200 leaflets and books on Jihad from the militants.

Six JMB militants were arrested from Kazirhat following the information provided by three JMB cadres arrested near Syedpur railway station on the same day. RAB sources said that the six arrested militants had rented a house at Kazirhat and were planning to plant explosives in various places in the northern region. The arrested included a ‘divisional commander’, five ‘district commanders’ and three militants of the outfit’s suicide squad. The recovered bomb-making materials include 84 detonators, two pipe guns, four bullets, unspecified quantity of ammonium nitrate, power gel, batteries, circuits, tape and wires. Mohibullah alias Mofizur Rahman, brother of Harkat-ul-Jihad-al-Islami Bangladesh (HuJI-B) ‘operations commander’ Mufti Abdul Hannan, has been shown arrested in the Ramna Batamul explosions of April 16, 2001 case and placed on remand on September 17 for five days, according to Daily Star. The Criminal Investigation Department produced Mofiz, also a member of the HuJI-B, who was previously arrested in a murder case filed with Gopalganj Police Station, before the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate's Court in Dhaka and submitted a petition for showing him arrested in the Ramna Batamul blast case. Metropolitan Magistrate Shamsul Alam granted the petition and approved a five-day remand.

Police also seized 43 copies of Islamic books and 200 leaflets from the arrested militants, who reportedly were distributing the books and leaflets among the villagers. They were asking people to attend their ‘Jihadi Kafela’ and to establish ‘real Islam’. The arrested were identified as Ziaur Rahman and Tutul Hossain of Baniaghat, Mohon, Ali Hossain and Mujib of Nishchintopur and Tutul of Harabhanga village in Gangni sub-district.

According to New Age, on September 4, two more persons were arrested for alleged links to the grenade attack on the British High Commissioner at a shrine in Sylhet on May 21, 2004. Hafez Syed Nayeem Ahmed of village Shaharpara under Jagannathpur sub-district in Sunamganj and Sharif Shahedul Islam of village Maishdi in Chandpur were arrested from the Sylhet railway station, following information provided by two persons arrested earlier. Meanwhile, according to Daily Star, investigators suspect that the four persons have links with the banned Harkat-ul Jihad al Islami (HuJI) and other Islamist groups.
