Meanwhile, SBI Staff Association deputy general secretary (Shillong Module) Biman B Bhattacharya, on August 11, has revealed that the family of the abducted SBI official Subodh Kumar Mishra has paid an amount of INR 50, 0000 to the abductors. According to him, the payment was made on August 9. “Despite paying the ransom, the abductors are yet to release the bank assistant,” Bhattarcharya said during the silent protest rally in the city. Informing that the identity of the abductors is still unknown, the SBI officials said that the abductors had claimed that they were members of a new militant outfit.
