In Karbi Anglong district, suspected Karbi Longri North Cachar Hills Liberation Front militants attacked the Santipur police outpost under Bokajan police station and exchanged fire with the police personnel for about one-and-half hours during which as many as 200 rounds were fired on August 10. The militants also detonated two grenades during the attack. However, there was no casualty reported in the incident, even as police recovered 36 empty cartridges of AK 56 from the site.
