The Karbi militant formation, Karbi Peoples Liberation Tiger (KPLT), has warned that Nagaland would be held responsible in case of any retaliatory action from Karbi Anglong to check intrusion of Naga people inside Assam, reports Nagaland Post on March 13. KPLT's statement came after an alleged incursion bid by a section of people from Nagaland inside forest area of Karbi Anglong and torching of two houses in a bordering village. Condemning the “encroachment of Karbi Anglong land by people of Nagaland”, KPLT 'general secretary' Ranam Lijang accused the people and government of Nagaland for illegal land grabbing and termed the recent bid as “motivated by evil intention.” Lijam also claimed that certain people of Dimapur have intensified patrolling in the bordering locality particularly in Daldali. He further alleged that clamping of section 144 of CrPC in the bordering locality by Nagaland authority was eyewash to maintain its good governance image before the center. Further, he alleged that encroachment by Nagaland was not new but a “continued state policy” of Nagaland Government.
